WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH COPR FOR THOSE IN CANADA?

Phone landings are expected to be rolled out. Individuals still need to ensure they maintain valid status right up until they become PRs, so someone whose status document is expiring imminently & had hoped to validate PR status before their current status document expires, needs to apply inland (per the usual rules) to extend if they are now awaiting scheduling inland telephone landing.

FROM IRCC:
Starting March 16, 2020, we’re cancelling all in-person permanent resident landing appointments until April 13, 2020.
If you had a landing appointment already booked, it will be held by telephone. We’ll contact you by email to let you know when your phone appointment will be. Use the web form if you need to update your contact information.
