Immigration Alert

04 May Immigration Alert

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced a significant change regarding applications for PR landings and new work permits made at some ports of entry in Southern Ontario (Queenston, Niagara Falls, Rainbow Bridge and Fort Erie).

Effective immediately, applications for PR landings and new work permits at the above noted ports of entry will only be accepted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.

If an applicant presents themselves at the port of entry outside of the above noted times, their entry to Canada will be deferred and they will be asked to return to the port of entry during the specified time.

We anticipate these changes will have a significant impact on business travelers seeking entry for the start of the work week, and those individuals seeking to complete their permanent residence landing without a prior appointment.

Further clarification and details are expected later this week.
